EUSAAP Conference 2024 Indonesia

Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 May 2024

Universitas Gadjah Mada, Bulaksumur, Yogyakarta, Indonesia

Revisiting EU – Asia Pacific Relations

The 2024 EUSAAP annual conference and postgraduate workshop hosted by Universitas Gadjah Mada and EUSA Indonesia will celebrate and revisit the state of EU Studies within our region. This past quarter century has seen a number of frameworks introduced spanning from the ASEM format initiated in 1996 to the 2021 EU Indo-Pacific Strategy, and interspersed with the designation of four Indo-Pacific countries as EU Strategic Partners (Japan, Korea, China, India). This conference invites papers that explore these innovations and changing priorities embracing interdisciplinary perspectives – International Relations, Political Science, Law, Economics and History.

Programme

The academic conference will be held over two days (Monday and Tuesday) and participants are expected to attend both days. The postgraduate workshop will be held on one day parallel to the academic conference (parallel streams). The day (Monday or Tuesday) will be confirmed closer in time. The postgraduate workshop will be conference-style presentations and facilitated by experienced academics providing supportive and constructive feedback.

A conference dinner will be hosted by our hosts, Universitas Gadjah Mada on Monday evening.

The organisers reserve the right to re-arrange panels and presentations at short notice to accommodate operational requirements. Presentations are expected to be 15 minutes in length, allowing approx 5 minutes Q&A per paper. The session chair will facilitate the discussion.

Panel Proposals

If you would like to propose a full panel (4 papers) every panel presenters must submit their paper through the normal registration process below and add a comment with the panel title in the comment section. As panel organiser please email Yvonne with the proposed panel title and presenter names.
